Challenge

The brand wanted full creative control over the shopping experience without rebuilding payments, orders or PCI compliance, and without their team having to learn a separate CMS.

Solution

A headless architecture: a custom Next.js storefront on Vercel for the experience, Shopify's Storefront API for products and cart, and Shopify's own checkout for payments. Content the team edits regularly lives in Shopify metaobjects, so they manage everything from the admin they already use.

Overview

Secnd Soul is a fashion brand where every purchase is matched with a donation to someone experiencing homelessness. The store had to feel as considered as that idea, and a Shopify theme couldn't get there.

The answer is a fully custom storefront in Next.js, connected to Shopify behind the scenes. The brand gets complete creative control, while Shopify still handles checkout, orders and payments.

It is fast and editorial, with smooth page transitions, content the team edits in the Shopify admin they already use, and a catalogue that stays visible even if Shopify has an outage.
